A 31" W x 31" L x 10" H concrete square wok built around a U100 CROSSFIRE® brass burner, rated to 100,000 BTU. It arrives finished and ready to place. One thing to plan for: the valve and control box are not built into the bowl, so your installer needs somewhere to house them — Warming Trends intends that to be under a table or inside a column. GFRC gives it the weight and depth of cast concrete without the mass, and it comes in four designer colors. The CROSSFIRE burner runs natural gas or propane from the same unit. Choose it match lit, with the 1/2" key valve in the box, or with the Cobalt 12V electronic ignition and light it from a switch. from $2,652.
Choose the Ember medium if you want a finished fire bowl to stand on a table, column or seat wall rather than a burner you build a structure around. At 31" W across it suits a mid-sized setting with room to walk around it. The concrete profile reads warmer and heavier; pick it over the metal vessels if the table or column is stone, stucco or cast concrete.
It is not right if you plan on mounting it on a patio at ground level, because the valve and control box are not built into the bowl. The AON Ember is intended to be mounted on a column, table or elevated structure, which provides a natural place for the controls to be secured underneath the fire feature. If a ground-level setting is what you want, tell us and we will point you at a bowl that carries its controls onboard. Choosing the Cobalt ignition sharpens the point rather than solving it: the valve box and its 12V transformer need a home and power, so there is more to hide, not less. It is also outdoor-only and needs a gas line run by a qualified installer; there is no portable-tank version.
Specifications
The vessel measures 31" W x 31" L x 10" H and carries a 23.99" square plate over a U100 CROSSFIRE® brass burner rated to 100,000 BTU. A 48" x 1/2" flex line and a 1/2" key valve come with it, so it is ready to light by hand; the Cobalt 12V electronic ignition is available on every colour and both fuels. It weighs 160 lb and ships at 195 lb, freight class 175. The valve and control box are separate from the bowl; Warming Trends intends them to sit under a table or inside a column. Keep 36" horizontally from combustible structures and 84" overhead, and fit a gas shutoff outside the fire feature. For outdoor use only; installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or the gas supplier, following all local codes. Keep ceramic or steel media at least 4" back from the edges.

Answers to common questions
Can I just set it on the patio?
Physically yes — it is a finished, freestanding bowl. The catch is the controls. The valve and control box are not built into the bowl, and Warming Trends intends them to sit under a table or inside a column. Set the Ember straight on a patio and you have nowhere to put them. Match lit needs a spot for the key valve within reach of the bowl. Cobalt needs more, not less: the valve box has to be housed and it needs 12V power run to it. What is the difference between match lit and the Cobalt ignition?
Match lit is how the bowl ships, and the 1/2" key valve is in the box: you turn the valve with the key and put a flame to the burner. Cobalt is Warming Trends' 12 Volt electronic system — a valve box with a hot-surface igniter and pilot, PCB controlled, with a 12V transformer. You light it from a switch. If the flame blows out it relights on its own, and if it cannot relight it shuts the gas off. It is CSA certified and carries 3 years residential / 1 year commercial. Both run on natural gas or propane; you pick the fuel and we ship the matching system.
Does the Cobalt ignition need electricity?
Yes, but not a lot of it. Cobalt is a low-voltage system: it runs off a 12V transformer, and the transformer needs power. Plan for that at the same place you plan for the valve box — under the table or inside the column. If you would rather not run power to the fire feature at all, stay with match lit; it needs gas and nothing else.
Where does it need to sit?
Outdoors, on a level surface, with 36" of clearance horizontally from anything combustible and at least 84" overhead. It needs a gas shutoff outside the fire feature so it can be isolated for maintenance. If you are setting it near granite, marble or another dense stone, keep the stone back from the flame — concentrated heat can crack it.

Do I need to choose natural gas or propane?
No. The vessel is universal — the same unit runs on natural gas or liquid propane, so there is no fuel-specific model to order. Your installer sets it up for the fuel you have. Note that this vessel connects to a gas line; it is not built for a portable propane tank.
How does it light?
Whichever way you choose on this page: Match Lit opens with a key valve and a flame by hand, and Cobalt 12V lights from a switch. Match lit is how the bowl ships and the 1/2" key valve is in the box. Cobalt adds a valve box with a hot-surface igniter and pilot, PCB controlled, run off a 12V transformer — and once it is fitted you can add a wireless remote or a dial timer.
What media can I put in it?
Fire glass or lava rock, and the burner needs to be covered. If you use ceramic or steel media, keep it at least 4" back from the edges of the vessel — concentrated heat at the rim can damage the structure, and Warming Trends does not warrant damage caused by media used that way.
How does the warranty work if something goes wrong?
Warming Trends warrants the fabrication and structure of the vessel for 3 years in a residential install and 1 year in a commercial one, and the powder coating for 12 months from delivery. The CROSSFIRE® brass burner carries its own lifetime warranty, regardless of ownership, from the date of purchase.
