A 65" built-in electric fireplace that features the new and ultra-realistic LCD flame technology and plays matching crackling sounds through built-in speakers. The Napoleon Luminex NEFL65LCD-3SV recesses into a framed wall as a three-sided, two-sided or single-sided fireplace, heats at 5,000 BTU/hr on 120 V or 10,000 BTU/hr on 240 V, and ships with Beach Fire driftwood logs and the Woodland media kit. It is hard-wired, with no vent and no gas line. from $5,029.
Choose the Luminex if you want an electric fireplace that reads as real from across the room — three flame styles, fire sounds, and glass you can see from the front and both sides — set into a wall, a corner or a bump-out where a gas line or vent is not possible.
It is not right for you if you prefer the original LED electric fireplace flame technology. The Luminex features the new LCD flame technology that has taken the industry by storm for its realism and customization.
The body is 65-1/16" wide, 25-3/8" high and 12-1/16" deep, with a 64-15/16" x 16-3/4" front view and 18-3/8" side glass, and weighs 178.57 lb. Frame an opening 25-7/8" high and 12-1/2" deep — 65-9/16" wide for a single-sided install or 65-1/16" for two- or three-sided. Clearance to combustibles is 0" at the bottom, sides and back and 0" at the top when recessed, with 3-9/16" from the top of the fireplace to a mantel. Power is hard-wired at 120 VAC (1,500 W) or 240 VAC (3,000 W) on a dedicated, grounded 15 A circuit.
Napoleon's Astound Built-In uses projected flames instead of LCD flame technology, installs single-sided only, and has no speakers; it carries the same 5,000 / 10,000 BTU/hr hard-wired heater and the same Beach Fire and Woodland media. The Astound 62" is from $3,269 and the 74" from $3,599, against from $5,029 for the Luminex 65".
No. It is an electric fireplace and needs no venting and no gas — only power. It must be hard-wired by a qualified electrician to a dedicated, grounded 15 A circuit, at 120 V or at 240 V; there is no plug-in option.
Heat. Wired at 120 V the heater runs at 1,500 W, about 5,000 BTU/hr; wired at 240 V it runs at 3,000 W, about 10,000 BTU/hr. The flames, sounds and lighting are the same either way, and they all run with the heater off.
