The Biltmore 42 is Majestic's classic radiant wood burning fireplace — a factory-built, UL-listed firebox with a 42" W x 28-1/2" H opening, sized for new construction and remodels that want a real wood fire without site-built masonry. It is the value pick in Majestic's open-hearth wood lineup — the same build quality as the Ashland in a shorter, more traditional opening. It ships with a steel grate, safety firescreen, attic insulation shield, and an integrated outside air kit. The firebox ships without interior panels, so you choose the refractory look you want: Traditional stacked or Herringbone brick pattern in Natural Gray, Black Onyx, or Masonry Brown — 6 combinations in all. The Biltmore 42 ships as a factory-built firebox shell. Here’s the honest breakdown of what’s in the crate, what you have to add, and what’s purely a preference.

• Included in the box: the factory-built firebox (42" W x 28-1/2" H opening), steel grate, safety firescreen, attic insulation shield, integrated outside air kit, dual gas knockouts, and the Majestic Limited Lifetime Warranty.
• Required (purchased separately — choose above): a Refractory Set. The fireplace ships with no refractory and one is required to safely operate it. Each set is four moulded panels — 1 hearth, 1 back, 1 left and 1 right — sized to the Biltmore 42 firebox, in Traditional stacked or Herringbone pattern, Natural Gray, Black Onyx, or Masonry Brown. Already have a Biltmore 42 refractory set on hand? Select “No Thanks” and we’ll ship the base firebox alone.
• Built on site by your installer: a non-combustible hearth in front of the opening — 66" W x 20" min. depth (12" each side of the opening), insulated to min. R-1.03. This is finished flooring work in tile, stone, or masonry over a suitable substrate.
• Optional: doors — Glass Bi-Fold Door — Black Trim, or Grand Vista Mesh Cabinet Door — Black. The fireplace operates safely on the included firescreen alone; doors reduce heat loss up the chimney between fires and block cold-air downdraft when the fireplace isn’t in use. Shown below the cart.
• Required to complete the install (not included): Class A SL1100 Series — 11" inner / 13" outer chimney pipe, sized to your chimney height and termination, plus 4" flex duct for the outside air kit (ID4 insulated or UD4 uninsulated) — everything else for the outside air kit ships with the fireplace.
