About This Product

The SF-OD43 from SimpliFire

The SimpliFire Forum 43" (SF-OD43) is an indoor/outdoor linear electric fireplace with a 43-3/4" W x 15-3/8" H view: UV-resistant driftwood logs over black embers and clear crystal media, four flame colors, and 13 ember-bed colors. It produces no heat, so it runs on a covered patio in any season, and its weather-resistant components and attached GFCI cord are built for the outdoors. from $2,259.

Choose it for a covered patio, porch, or three-season room where you want the look of a fire without the heat — built to shed weather and run on a GFCI circuit.

It is not a heater — the Forum makes no heat at all — and it is not waterproof: it must be installed in a framed, sealed wall with a drainage path, not left fully exposed to standing water.

Specifications

The SF-OD43 frames into a 18-1/2" H x 46-1/4" W x 9" D opening with zero clearance to combustibles on all sides. It draws just 36 W on a 120V GFCI circuit, and excess water drains through weep holes in the base — build a drain path, or add the optional drain pan.

How the SF-OD43 compares

The Forum comes in 43" and 55" (from $2,579). Same weatherproof build and no-heat flame — size it to your wall.

Features

  • A 43-3/4" W x 15-3/8" H view with UV-resistant driftwood logs, black embers, and clear crystal media built for the outdoors

  • Four flame colors and 13 ember-bed colors from push buttons or the included remote
  • Weather-resistant components with a GFCI power cord; installs into a framed exterior wall with a built-in drainage path
  • Built-in for a frameless look or recessed with the included self-trimming front

Answers to common questions

Can the Forum go outside?

Yes — it's designed for indoor/outdoor use with weather-resistant components and UV-resistant logs. It installs into a framed exterior wall or bump-out with sealed joints and a drainage path, and runs on a GFCI circuit. It sheds moderate water but isn't waterproof, so it shouldn't sit fully exposed.

Does it put out any heat?

No. The Forum is a flame-only appliance — 36 W, no heater — so it looks like a fire without warming a covered patio. That's by design for outdoor and three-season spaces.

How does it handle rain and drainage?

Excess water drains through weep holes in the base. The builder provides a path for that water to exit the structure; an optional drain pan (SF-OD**-DP) can be added for extra protection. All joints must be sealed during installation.

Warranty

In the unlikely event your product experiences a defect, our technical team will guide you through the manufacturer’s warranty process. Here is a general outline of what to expect.

Due to the technical nature of our products, the manufacturer must perform troubleshooting to process a warranty claim. Your installer will need to troubleshoot the problem on-site while working in tandem with our technical team. If troubleshooting leads to what The Torch Guys deems as a defective part, we will submit a warranty claim to the manufacturer on your behalf. Before we submit the claim, we will ask you to review the terms and confirm your consent to proceed.

Once the claim is submitted, the manufacturer will review it and either approve or deny it. If they have all the information and accept the claim, your warranty replacement part(s) will begin processing for shipment. If, for any reason, the claim is denied or we need more information, we will notify you as soon as possible.

All warranties are processed as exchanges. You can expect to receive a prepaid return label for the defective part(s), which must be returned within 30 days of receiving the warranty replacement(s).

Warranty claims can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to process, depending on the season. Given the length of time claims can take, we recommend you fire up your unit in late summer/early fall to ensure your existing fireplace is in good working order for the winter season.
