Venting Configurations

Mahana (PL42VO / PL60VO) is a ventless outdoor fireplace. No flue, no chimney, no vent pipe required. The unit dilutes combustion products directly into the open outdoor air, which is why it can only be installed outdoors with adequate overhead clearance.

Mahana is approved for outdoor use only. Indoor installation is not permitted. Follow the installation manual's overhead clearance and side-wall clearance requirements when locating the unit on a patio, lanai, or other outdoor structure.

Can I convert from natural gas to propane?

Yes, with a propane conversion kit. Every Montigo gas model is made for natural gas; select propane as your fuel type on our website and the conversion kit is automatically added to your order.

Why does ventless outdoor not need vent pipe?

Ventless outdoor units are open to ambient air and don't require a chimney or vent termination. Combustion exhausts safely outdoors. Important: ventless outdoor units must be installed in a covered outdoor space (patio cover, pergola with overhead protection) — not directly under open sky or in fully enclosed rooms.

How is Mahana different from Divine outdoor?

Mahana is purpose-built outdoor: 304 stainless construction, quartz firestones for thermal mass, and 42" or 60" widths designed for outdoor living. Divine outdoor models share the H38 38" burner with the indoor Divine series — useful when matching aesthetic between an indoor Divine and an outdoor Divine in the same project.
