Venting Configurations

Phenom (L-Series) uses a direct-vent sealed combustion system with 5″/8″ vent pipe. Venting can originate top or side and terminate through the roof or an exterior wall. Wall-mount layouts must comply with model-specific venting graphs in the installation manual.

Each model has its own venting graph for wall-mounted terminations — the acceptable vertical/horizontal run combinations differ by size and by top-vent vs side-vent. Always plot your proposed run on the appropriate graph before purchasing. Use PVTK1SS termination for 5″/8″ systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I convert from natural gas to propane?

Yes, with a propane conversion kit. Every Montigo gas model is made for natural gas; select propane as your fuel type on our website and the conversion kit is automatically added to your order.

What venting do I need?

These models use direct-vent sealed combustion piping. Both vertical (through-roof) and horizontal (through-wall) terminations are supported. Refer to the installation manual for exact pipe size, max run length, and clearance requirements per model.

What's the difference between Phenom Basic, Full Load, and See-Through?

Basic is the entry-level single-sided model — bare essentials, lowest price, options à la carte. Full Load is the same single-sided footprint but with remote, blower kit, micro mesh screen, halogen uplighting, and battery backup standard. See-Through has glass on both sides for room-divider installations and can't be downgraded to Basic.
