The Fire Garden 4024 II from Fire Garden
A 40" x 24" linear outdoor fireplace running 65,000 BTU/hr on natural gas or propane — the Fire Garden 4024 II is ready-to-finish, with the tempered glass wind guard, black glass fireback, LP conversion kit, and wall switch all in the box, from $5,108. Electronic ignition is standard; the separately sold 24V transformer powers it. Outdoor only, on a fixed gas line, in an enclosure built to the manual.
Choose it if you're building a linear fire wall into an outdoor room and want the glass, fireback, and controls to arrive with the firebox instead of as a parts list.
It is not freestanding and not indoor-rated — the 4024 II installs into a framed, vented, weatherproofed enclosure, outdoors, on a fixed gas line. And it will not light until the separately sold 24V transformer is wired in.
Specifications
Input is 65,000 BTU/hr on either fuel — orifice (1) #29 on natural gas, the included kit's (1) #41 on propane, at 7" / 11" wc manifold. The appliance weighs 250 lbs and draws 1.6 A at 24 VAC through the separately sold transformer. Enclosure framing, weatherproofing, and ventilation follow the manual's placement chart.
Fire Garden 4024 II vs. 4035 II Traditional
Both are ready-to-finish outdoor fireboxes on fixed gas lines. The 4024 II is the modern one — a 40x24 linear flame over glass media at 65,000 BTU/hr with electronic ignition standard, wind guard and fireback included, from $5,108. Is it natural gas or propane?
Both, one box: it ships configured for natural gas and the LP conversion kit — a (1) #41 orifice for the 40x24 — is included, installed by a qualified service agency.

It's the current revision of the 4024 — the manufacturer moved the pilot from the end to the center of the burner. The SKU (94900291), options, and pricing are unchanged, and the manual on this page (doc 1606) covers the II.
Why is the transformer separate, and which one do I need?
The 24V transformer is listed under the manual's Additional Items Required. Use 94800833 to power this fireplace alone, or 94800830 to power up to six 24V Fire Garden appliances from one transformer.
What does the enclosure need?
Framing to the manual's placement chart, weatherproofing, and the included ventilation grilles installed per the ventilation section — the 4024 II is a ready-to-finish insert for a structure you build, outdoors only.
What warranty applies?
