A 38" tall, 16" wide electric fireplace only 5-5/8" deep that hangs on the wall or partially recesses into it. The Napoleon Allure Vertical NEFVC38H sets a three-piece birch log set over a crystal ember bed lit in six colors, with seven flame color settings, and its 5,000 BTU/hr (1,500 W) heater has a built-in thermostat — or switch the heat off and run the flame alone. It plugs into a dedicated 120 V outlet, with no vent and no gas line. from $709.
Choose the 38" if you want a tall, narrow flame with the look of real logs for a wall too slim for a linear unit — beside a doorway, in a bedroom, or between windows — and you want to hang it yourself on a bracket rather than frame a firebox. A 36-3/4" x 14-1/2" recess, 3-1/2" deep, sets it partly into the wall if you prefer.
It is not right for you if you want a long, low linear flame. The Allure Vertical is a tall, narrow flame made for a slim wall beside a doorway or between windows.
The body measures 16" wide by 38" high by 5-5/8" deep, with a 15-1/4" x 26" viewing area, and weighs 28.2 lb. Clearance to combustibles is 0" at the top, bottom, sides and back; leave a 2" gap below any mantel so the unit can be lifted onto its bracket. Partially recessed, it needs a 36-3/4" high by 14-1/2" wide opening at least 3-1/2" deep. Power is 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 1,500 W maximum on a dedicated, grounded 15 A circuit, plugged in or hard-wired.
The Allure Vertical 32" is the same 16" wide, 5-5/8" deep fireplace six inches shorter, with a 15-1/4" x 20" viewing area against this model's 15-1/4" x 26" and the same 1,500 W heater, but crystal ember media only — the birch log set is a 38" feature. It sells at from $429 against from $709 for the 38".
No. The Allure Vertical is an electric fireplace and needs no venting — only power. Plug it into a grounded 120 V outlet on a dedicated 15 A circuit, or have an electrician hard-wire it. Extension cords and power strips are not allowed.
Both. Out of the box it hangs on the supplied wall mount bracket. To set it partly into the wall, frame a 36-3/4" high by 14-1/2" wide opening at least 3-1/2" deep in a non-load-bearing wall; it fastens to top and bottom brackets in the recess. Clearance to combustibles is 0" either way, with a 2" gap below any mantel.
The heater is 1,500 W, about 5,000 BTU/hr, with low, high and blower-only settings and a thermostat you can set from 61°F to 85°F; it cycles off once the room reaches that temperature. The flame, ember bed and accent light all run with the heater off, so you can use it year-round.
Indoors only. It is approved for bedrooms. Keep furniture, bedding and curtains 36" from the front, and do not use it outdoors or where it is exposed to the elements.
