Its 5,000 BTU/hr heater has a thermostat, ECO and Boost modes, or you can lock the heat out. It plugs into a dedicated 120 V outlet — no vent and no gas line. from $929.

Choose the 30" if you want a fire built into a wall, a mantel or a media wall without a chimney or gas line, and want the option of logs in winter and crystals the rest of the year. It is approved for bedrooms and manufactured homes.

It is not right for you if you want a fireplace that hangs on the wall. The CineView builds into a wall, mantel or media wall in an opening just 7-3/4" deep, with both a log set and black crystals in the box.

Specifications

The appliance measures 30" wide by 20-5/16" high by 7-3/4" deep and weighs 41.9 lb. Frame an opening 29-1/4" wide by 19-7/8" high, plus the thickness of the floor or mantel base it sits on, and 7-3/4" deep; a corner install needs 43-3/4" across the front and 30-13/16" along each wall. Clearance to combustibles is 0" at the bottom, sides and back, 0" to a mantel above and 0" to the ceiling, and the heater vents must stay uncovered. Power is 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 1,465 W on a dedicated, grounded 15 A circuit, plugged in or hard-wired.

How the 30" compares to the Cineview 26"

The Cineview 26" is the same 20-5/16" high, 7-3/4" deep fireplace four inches narrower, with the same 1,465 W heater, controls and log-or-crystal media, a 25-1/4" wide opening against this model's 29-1/4", and its own 5" black trim kit. It sells from $769 against from $929 for the 30".

Features

  • A 30" wide, 7-3/4" deep firebox that recesses into a wall or mantel with 0" clearance to combustibles all round
  • Logs on a grate and black crystals both ship in the box, so you can switch looks

  • Remote and on-unit control panel, with a 30-minute to 8-hour timer
  • Plugs into a dedicated 120 V outlet or hard-wires — no vent and no gas line

Answers to common questions

Does it need a vent, a chimney or a gas line?

No. The Cineview is an electric fireplace and needs only power: plug it into a grounded 120 V outlet on a dedicated 15 A circuit, or have an electrician hard-wire it. Extension cords and power strips are not allowed.

What size opening do I frame for the 30"?

29-1/4" wide by 19-7/8" high, plus the thickness of the floor or mantel base, and 7-3/4" deep. Clearance to combustibles is 0" all round, including to a mantel directly above. Bring the power to the right side of the opening first, and keep insulation off the appliance - Napoleon recommends finishing the inside of the enclosure, with drywall for example. In a corner it needs 43-3/4" across the front and 30-13/16" along each wall.

What’s included, what’s required, and what’s optional?
  • Included in the box: Left and right logs with grate, plus small and large black crystals; 5,000 BTU/hr heater with built-in thermostat, ECO and Boost modes; Remote control and on-unit control panel; Finished front with magnetic decorative cover — the fireplace is complete with no trim kit; Mounting screws, strain relief and junction box cover plate; 1-year parts warranty.
  • Required to complete the installation, purchased separately: Electrical - a dedicated, grounded 120 V, 15 A circuit, routed to the right side of the opening; plug in, or hard-wire by a qualified electrician; no extension cords; Framed opening - 29-1/4" wide by 19-7/8" high (plus the floor or mantel-base thickness) by 7-3/4" deep; keep insulation and vapour barrier off the appliance (finishing the inside, e.g. with drywall, is recommended).
  • Optional: A 5" black trim kit that frames the opening — the fireplace is finished and fully working without one.
How much heat does it give, and can I run it without heat?

The heater is 1,465 W, about 5,000 BTU/hr, with a thermostat you can set from 64°F to 82°F. ECO mode runs it at reduced output and Boost runs full heat with a faster fan for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. The flame and ember bed run with the heater off, and the heater can be locked out entirely, so you can use it year-round.

Do I need a trim kit, and which one?

No — the Cineview is finished and fully working without one. If you want one, the 5" black trim kit frames the opening around the fireplace. It has four sides and can also be installed as three-sided.

Where can it be installed?

Indoors only. It is approved for bedrooms and mobile homes and meets HUD standards for manufactured homes. Keep furniture, bedding and curtains 36" from the front, and do not use it outdoors or where it is exposed to the elements.

Is the warranty the same if I order it from you?

Napoleon covers the Cineview with a one-year parts warranty — heaters, motors, switches, the remote and the LED lights included — and labour is not covered. The Torch Guys is an authorized Napoleon dealer, so the full factory warranty applies, and if you ever need a part we file the claim with Napoleon for you. Warranty

In the unlikely event your product experiences a defect, our technical team will guide you through the manufacturer’s warranty process. Here is a general outline of what to expect.

Due to the technical nature of our products, the manufacturer must perform troubleshooting to process a warranty claim. Your installer will need to troubleshoot the problem on-site while working in tandem with our technical team. If troubleshooting leads to what The Torch Guys deems as a defective part, we will submit a warranty claim to the manufacturer on your behalf. Before we submit the claim, we will ask you to review the terms and confirm your consent to proceed.

Once the claim is submitted, the manufacturer will review it and either approve or deny it. If they have all the information and accept the claim, your warranty replacement part(s) will begin processing for shipment. If, for any reason, the claim is denied or we need more information, we will notify you as soon as possible.

All warranties are processed as exchanges. You can expect to receive a prepaid return label for the defective part(s), which must be returned within 30 days of receiving the warranty replacement(s).

Warranty claims can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to process, depending on the season. Given the length of time claims can take, we recommend you fire up your unit in late summer/early fall to ensure your existing fireplace is in good working order for the winter season.
