A 60" see-through electric fireplace that builds into the wall between two rooms, with a flame on each side and privacy glass you switch from clear to half-clear to fully opaque. Each room gets its own remote and its own heater, up to 3,000 W (10,000 BTU/hr) in total on 240 V or 1,500 W on 120 V. Choose the 60" if you want the larger flame view between two rooms — a great room and a kitchen, a living room and a den — with separate heat for each and the option to close the view for privacy. It frames into a 19-15/16" x 59" opening in a wall up to 8" thick, or a 4-1/2" wall with the deep trim.
It is not right if you want a plug-in fireplace: it must be hard-wired to its own 15 A circuit by an electrician. It is also indoor-only, not approved for a bathroom, and needs 36" clear of furniture and curtains on both faces. At 60" wide and 130 lb, it also needs a 59" wide framed opening and two people to set it in place.

Answers to common questions
Does it need a vent, a chimney or a gas line?
No. The CLEARion Elite is an electric fireplace and needs no venting — only power. It must be hard-wired by a qualified electrician to a dedicated, grounded 15 A circuit at 120 V or 240 V; it does not plug into an outlet, and extension cords are not allowed.
Should I wire it for 120 V or 240 V?
Either works. On 120 V each side's heater runs at 750 W, 1,500 W in total, about 5,000 BTU/hr. On 240 V each side runs at 1,500 W, 3,000 W in total, about 10,000 BTU/hr. Use 14 AWG/2 wire for 120 V or 14 AWG/3 for 240 V; both need a neutral.
How thick does the wall need to be?
Frame a 19-15/16" high by 59" wide opening. With the black trim that ships with it, the finished wall can be up to 8" thick, finishing materials included. For a thinner 4-1/2" finished wall, add the black or stainless steel deep trim, which Napoleon sells for 2" x 4" wall installation. Clearance to combustibles is 0" at the bottom and sides and 8" to a mantel above.
Can each room control its own heat and flame?
Yes. It ships with two full-function remotes, and each side of the fireplace has its own heater control, so you can heat both rooms at once or just one. The heat has a thermostat from 64°F to 82°F and a child lock. The privacy glass switches from clear to half-clear to opaque when you want to close the view.
