A 53,000 BTU/hr round gas fire table, 36" across and 15.5" high, for a patio or deck. The Napoleon Nexus GPFCCN36 runs a stainless steel burner under a bed of lava rock, lights with a push-button electronic igniter, and has a thermocouple safety valve that shuts the gas off if the flame goes out. It ships for propane with the regulator and hose, stands on leveling feet, and is approved for use on combustible floors. from $1,769.
Choose it if you want a finished round fire table for a small seating group on a patio or wood deck, running from a 20 lb propane cylinder, with the option of converting to natural gas later with Napoleon's kit.
It is not right for a screened-in porch, a gazebo or any other enclosed space, or for cooking. The propane cylinder sits at least 60" from the table rather than inside it, so plan room for the tank and its hose, and it shuts down in winds over 10 mph, so an exposed site needs shelter or the windscreen.
The table is 36" in diameter and 15.5" high and stands on leveling feet; it is approved for use on combustible floors. Keep 24" to side walls and 72" from the top of the unit to any ceiling or overhead; the overhead clearance and maximum overhang are drawn on page 7 of the installation manual. Propane inlet pressure runs from 8" w.c. minimum to 13" w.c. maximum. It is listed to ANSI Z21.97-2017 / CSA 2.41-2017 for outdoor decorative gas appliances.
The Nexus 56" (GPFRCN56) and 72" (GPFRCN72) are the same 53,000 BTU/hr propane tables with the same ignition, lava rock bed and warranty, in a rectangular 56" x 27" or 72" x 27" footprint at the same 15.5" height, with a long linear burner. Pick the round 36" for a small circle of chairs and a rectangular Nexus for a long seating area — from $1,769 vs from $2,329 and from $2,999.
No. It is an outdoor decorative gas appliance that burns in the open air, so there is no vent to run. What it needs instead is the right location: outdoors on a patio or in a yard, never inside a building, garage, screened-in porch or gazebo. Under an overhead cover it can have no more than two sidewalls, or three when at least 30% of the surrounding sides stay permanently open.
Outdoors on a patio, deck or in a yard; it is approved for use on combustible floors. Keep 24" to side walls and 72" from the top of the unit to any ceiling or overhead. A sheltered spot is best, because direct wind makes the flame erratic and the burner shuts down in winds over 10 mph. Avoid places that get very wet or where water runs or collects.
Not on the table. Napoleon's manual has the connected cylinder placed at least 60" away from the table and never set on top of it, with the hose routed out of walkways. Use a 20 lb cylinder with a QCC1 valve (a 30 lb cylinder may be used on level ground); the regulator and hose come with the table. To run it from a house propane line instead, have a qualified gas installer make the connection.
Yes, with Napoleon's natural gas conversion kit (S85005), which is sold separately — the table ships set up for propane. The conversion has to be done by a licensed gas fitter.
No. The lava rock that ships with the table has to be in place to run it, and that material must not be changed or substituted — replacement rock comes from a Napoleon dealer, and real stones must never be used. On first use the rock is spread over the burner tray, kept clear of the ignition ports, and run on high for 30 minutes.
Napoleon's President's 3 Year Limited Warranty covers the table top and pedestal, the stainless steel housing and the burner assembly for 3 years and all other parts for 2 years, with replacement parts supplied by Napoleon; labour is not covered. It applies to a home installation done by a licensed technician or contractor. The Torch Guys is an authorized Napoleon dealer, so the full factory warranty applies, and if you ever need a part we file the claim with Napoleon for you. Keep your invoice and the model and serial number.
