Sixty inches of linear flame from a chassis 6" deep, with no gas line, no flue and no chimney — recess it into a stud wall or mount it on the surface. The Superior ERL3060 runs multi-level yellow and blue LED flames over a smoked crystal ember bed and a driftwood log set, with seven ember colors and a ceiling downlight, all from the included remote. Choose the ERL3060 if you want a 60" fire feature in a room with no venting path — an interior wall, a condo, a finished space you will not open up for a chase. The whole install is a framed recess 6-1/2" deep and a 120 V circuit, and drywall can run right to the edge.
It is not right if you need a primary heat source: the heater is rated 5,000 BTU/hr — 1,500 W on high — and IHP designs it as a decorative appliance and supplemental heater, so the room should have heat of its own. For output that carries a room, look at a direct-vent gas fireplace such as Superior's DRL linear series. It is also indoor-only — for a covered patio or anywhere exposed to weather, an outdoor-rated gas fire feature is the one to look at instead.

Frame a recess 63" wide by 16-1/2" high by 6-1/2" deep; the fireplace measures 64-7/8" by 18-3/8" by 6" overall, so the front trim overlaps the wall and covers the drywall gap. Combustible framing and finishes can run to the edge of the appliance — recessed clearances are 0" — and a mantel, combustible or not, may sit above the face. Keep insulation and vapor barriers 2" away, and give it a dedicated, properly fused 120 V, 15 A circuit: plug in the included grounded cord or hardwire at the junction box. Answers to common questions
Does it need a vent, a chimney or a gas line?
No — none of the three. The ERL3060 is electric: the only utility it needs is a dedicated 120 V, 15 A circuit, either an outlet within reach of the included grounded cord or a hardwired junction-box connection. That is what lets it go on an interior wall where a gas fireplace could never vent.
Can I frame it into the wall, and how close can combustibles be?
Yes — the recessed installation is the one the manual details, and recessed clearance to combustibles is 0": frame with combustible materials right up to the edge of the appliance, and the front trim covers the drywall gap. Frame the opening 63" wide by 16-1/2" high by 6-1/2" deep. Mantels, combustible or not, may sit above the face. Two cautions: keep insulation and vapor barriers at least 2" from the appliance, and a wall-mounted (not recessed) unit needs 7-7/8" at the sides and floor and 23-5/8" to the ceiling.
How much heat does it put out — can it heat the room?
It delivers 5,000 BTU/hr, with a 750 W low and a 1,500 W high setting under a built-in thermostat — enough to warm the area in front of it, but supplemental by design: IHP states it is not intended for continuous use as a primary heat source. Set the thermostat between 61°F and 86°F and the heater cycles to hold the room there; a safety lock can disable the heat entirely.
Can I run the flames without the heat?
Yes — the flames, ember bed and ceiling light all run with the heater off; powering on actually starts the flames with the heater in OFF status until you switch it on. That makes it a four-season fireplace: ambiance alone in July, ambiance plus 5,000 BTU/hr in January.

How does the warranty work if something goes wrong?
Superior's parent IHP warrants the fireplace, and The Torch Guys handles it for you — we register the appliance and, if you ever need to claim, we deal with the manufacturer on your behalf rather than handing you a phone number. The limited warranty runs one year on the fireplace body, blower and circuit board, 90 days on glass, and one year on the remote. Keep your invoice and the model number; we hold the rest on file.
