Nineteen-inch-tall Giant Timbers concrete logs on Superior's cantilevered triple burner — two rows of yellow flame over a glowing ember bed — in 24", 30" or 36" sets, each supplied with the Mega-Flame vent free burner it is built for: 40,000 BTU/hr on the millivolt and variable-flame burners, 38,000 (natural gas) or 39,000 (propane) on the electronic burner, no chimney required, from $1,617. It needs a firebox at least 32-1/2" wide at the front, 29" high and 15-1/2" deep for the 24" set, and the logs and grate carry Superior's three-year gas log set warranty.
Choose the Giant Timbers set if you want the tallest, fullest vent free fire Superior makes — 19" logs over a triple burner — in a fireplace with the room for it: a 36" firebox takes the 24" set, a 42" fireplace the 30", and a 48" or larger firebox the 36", each at least 29" high. Pick the millivolt burner if you want a standing pilot you light once a season that can take a wall switch, on/off remote or thermostatic remote kit; the variable-flame burner if you want five flame heights and a thermostat from the ProFlame remote; the electronic burner if you want it to light itself from the EcoFlow touchscreen remote with weekday/weekend programs. None of the three needs household power.
It is not right if your firebox is narrower than 32-1/2" at the front, shorter than 29" or shallower than 15-1/2" — the 19" logs need the room — or if you want a smaller fire than a 29,000 to 40,000 BTU/hr heater-rated burner gives. It is not for a bedroom or bathroom, and not for a factory-built fireplace whose own instructions rule out unvented gas logs. The logs install only on the burners the installation manual's Log Compatibility Chart lists for them — the Mega-Flame MNF24 burner system under the 24" and 30" logs, the MNF30 burner system under the 36" logs — never on another brand's burner, and the set is not a source of single replacement logs.
Specifications
Minimum firebox for the logs on their burner is 32-1/2" wide at the front, 22-3/4" at the rear, 29" high and 15-1/2" deep for the 24" set; the 30" set needs 39" of front width and 26-3/4" at the rear at the same height and depth; the 36" set needs 47" and 33", 29" high and 20" deep. Superior sizes the 24" set to a 36" firebox, the 30" to a 42" fireplace and the 36" to a 48" or larger firebox. The 24" and 30" sets ride the 24" MNF24 burner and the 36" set the 30" MNF30, and the burner sets the input: 40,000 BTU/hr high, 29,000 low on the millivolt and variable-flame burners for either gas; 38,000 / 28,000 on natural gas and 39,000 / 31,000 on propane for the electronic burner. Keep 16" from the opening to a side wall and 42" to the ceiling, 36" of clear floor in front, and noncombustible facing at least 8" above the opening — 12" needs no hood, and the GA6050 hood is what makes a facing of only 8" to 12" work. Mantel shelf clearances are charted in Figures 6 and 7 on page 11 of the installation manual and shorten when the hood is fitted.
Giant Timbers vs. Mossy Oak
Both Mega-Flame styles are concrete log sets in 24", 30" and 36" on the same MNF24 and MNF30 burners, with the same burner choices and the same book prices — Mossy Oak from $1,617 against Giant Timbers from $1,617 — so the choice is the look of the stack. Giant Timbers is the eight-log stack with a long front top log; it is also the style Superior sells the LAMF accessory log kit for, if you want extra hearth-area logs.

The variable-flame burner adds the ProFlame remote and receiver; the electronic burner adds the EcoFlow touchscreen remote, touch pad and battery power supply.

Optional: For the millivolt burner, the RCKIT4001 on/off remote, TRC thermostatic remote or GWMS2 wall switch — offered above as Ignition kits, not sold twice below. The FM100 floor media kit (volcanic stone, embers and cinders) to dress the fireplace floor, and the GA6050 black fireplace hood, which is the part that lets you install with less clearance — 12" of noncombustible facing above your opening needs no hood, and the hood brings that down to 8" while also shortening every minimum mantel height (the manual's Figure 7 chart instead of Figure 6), plus the LAMF accessory log kit for extra hearth-area logs and a control cover — where your facing and mantel already clear, the set needs none of them.
Which size fits my fireplace?
Measure the firebox. The 24" set on its 24" burner needs 32-1/2" of front width, 22-3/4" at the rear, 29" of height and 15-1/2" of depth; the 30" set needs 39" at the front and 26-3/4" at the rear at the same height and depth; the 36" set on the 30" burner needs 47" and 33", 29" high and 20" deep. Superior's rule of thumb is a 36" firebox for the 24" set, a 42" fireplace for the 30" and a 48" or larger firebox for the 36". Then check the surroundings: 16" from the opening to a side wall, 42" to the ceiling, noncombustible facing at least 8" above the opening, and mantel clearances as charted in Figures 6 and 7 on page 11 of the installation manual. Millivolt, variable flame or electronic — which Ignition option should I pick?
The millivolt burner has a standing pilot you light by hand with the igniter button, a HI-LO knob and an AUTO/OFF/ON switch in the small switch log, and no need for household power; it is remote ready, so the On/Off Wall Switch, On/Off Remote Control and Thermostatic Remote choices add the GWMS2 switch kit, the RCKIT4001 remote or the TRC thermostatic remote to the same burner. Variable Flame Remote is a different burner (MNF24INV / MNF30INV, or IPV for propane) with the ProFlame remote and receiver included — five flame heights, room and smart thermostat modes, child lock. Electronic Ignition is the MNF24INE / MNF30INE (or IPE) burner, which sparks its own pilot from a battery power supply and comes with the EcoFlow touchscreen remote and a touch pad — three flame heights, thermostat mode, weekday/weekend programs, child lock. Every option on this page is vent free.
Is it vent free, and can I use it in a fireplace with a working chimney?
It is a vent free room heater built to ANSI Z21.11.2: it runs with the damper closed, its ODS pilot shuts it off if the room runs short of fresh air, and Superior rates the series 99% efficient. It goes in a solid-fuel masonry fireplace, a UL127 factory-built fireplace or a listed vent free firebox — not in a factory-built fireplace whose instructions rule out unvented logs — and the room must meet the fuel-gas code's air volume (50 cubic feet per 1,000 BTU/hr). State and local codes in some areas prohibit vent free appliances, and no unvented heater may go in a bedroom or bathroom, so check your codes before you buy.
Can I put the Giant Timbers logs on a burner I already own?
Only if it is one of the two Mega-Flame burner systems these logs are listed for - the MNF24 under the 24" and 30" logs, the MNF30 under the 36". Installing them on any other burner is strictly prohibited. The set is also complete only as a set — it is not a source of single replacement logs, and the logs must never be altered. If you already have a listed burner, contact us and we will help; this page sells the logs with a Mega-Flame burner.
What about embers and volcanic stone?
Both come in the box. Platinum Bright Embers go on the flat front burner just behind its ports for a hot-coal glow, Glowing Embers (rockwool) on the front burner away from the ports, and volcanic stone dresses the fireplace floor around the base — it may cover up to 1/2" of the front burner but must never touch the ports or the flame. Use only the ember material supplied and only where the instructions show it: If you want more stone, cinders or extra hearth logs, the floor media kit below the cart adds them.
Who installs it, and what should I know about living with it?
A qualified installer, service agency or the gas supplier installs and services the set, with the fireplace off and cold; the base is screwed to the fireplace floor and the screen goes back in place before it is run, with any glass doors fully open. The logs must be set exactly as the instructions show — when they are, no flame touches a log; the logs stay hot after use, so any repositioning waits for them to cool or is done in heat-resistant gloves. Expect a paper-burning smell for the first few hours, clean the burner air inlets every three months in season, have it inspected yearly, and note that above 4,500 feet the pilot may not stay lit.
Does buying from The Torch Guys affect my Superior warranty?
No. The Torch Guys is an authorized Superior dealer, and Superior's Gas Log Set Limited Three Year Warranty covers product bought through a listed IHP supplier: three years on the logs and grate, one year on gas components and the remote control, 90 days on other parts, with labor at IHP's rates for the component's period. It stays with the original owner at the original installation. Keep your invoice and the model and serial numbers from the burner's data plate, and we handle the claim with the manufacturer for you.
