The DelRay Square 34" Full Load from Montigo
The Montigo DelRay Square 34" Full Load (DRSQ34NI-2) is built tall rather than wide: a 29¹¹⁄₁₆" × 18⅞" viewing area with the proportions of a real hearth, not a letterbox slot. It produces 18,000 BTU on natural gas at 65.7% efficiency (16,000 BTU on propane) and frames at 36" wide × 40½" high × 18" deep. Choose the DelRay Square if you want the room to have a hearth, not a screen. The portrait proportions read the way a fireplace always has — the focal point of a living room, den, or bedroom — and near-zero side clearances let it tuck into framing that would never take a wider unit. TV recess and Cool Wall installations are both supported per the manual, and it can be installed in manufactured homes.
It is not right if you need primary heat for a large space — this is supplemental zone heat, not a furnace. It is not rated above 4,500 feet elevation, requires a full 18" framing depth (deeper than a standard 2×6 wall), and outdoor use is limited to protected, covered locations shielded from direct water.
Specifications
Framing dimensions are 36" wide × 40½" high × 18" deep. Required clearances are Sides: 0", Back: 1½", Floor: 0" with a minimum mantel clearance of 9". The viewing area is 29¹¹⁄₁₆" × 18⅞". It runs on natural gas or propane, uses intermittent pilot ignition (IPI), and is rated for elevations from 0 to 4,500 ft.
This is the Full Load configuration: it includes the Proflame 2 IPI system with multi-function remote (flame, fan, and lighting), a remote-operated blower, micro mesh safety screen, reflective glass liner, halogen downlighting, and battery backup (WiFi module optional).
DelRay Square 34: Basic vs. Full Load
Both configurations share the same firebox, viewing area, and framing. The Full Load (DRSQ34NI-2, $4,299) adds the Proflame 2 system with multi-function remote, remote-operated blower, micro mesh safety screen, reflective glass liner, halogen downlighting, and battery backup; the Basic (DRSQ34NI, $3,069) starts with Proflame Basic ignition and a standard safety screen, with upgrades available individually. On this size the two tiers also run different inputs: the Full Load produces 18,000 BTU (NG) vs the Basic's 15,500. Rule of thumb: at eye level in a main room, the Full Load's lighting and remote earn the difference; in a secondary room, the Basic looks nearly identical for less.
Answers to common questions
Can I mount a TV above this fireplace?
Careful consideration should always be given to mounting heat sensitive objects — like TVs or artwork — above a fireplace.
The Cool Wall Advantage Kit (optional/not included with the fireplace) is specifically designed to divert heat away from heat sensitive objects, creating an area safer for mounting a TV or hanging artwork. Specific examples for TVs and combustible mantels are provided in the installation manual. The manual also requires the circulating fan to be disabled when the fireplace is paired with a Cool Wall system, to avoid elevated wall temperatures.
The Torch Guys cannot guarantee that a TV, artwork or other object will be protected from heat, discoloration, or damage. Installation decisions must be based on applicable manufacturer instructions, site conditions, and the judgement of the installer.

What venting does it need, and is it included?
Venting is not included. The DelRay is a direct-vent fireplace that runs on Montigo's venting system, and the installation manual also approves alternate venting components from DuraVent, ICC, MetalFab, Selkirk, and Flexmaster (a DuraVent adaptor is available for collared components). Co-linear installs into an existing chimney are supported using DuraVent conversion parts. Send us your wall drawing and we'll spec the exact run and parts list before you order.
Does it work during a power outage?
Yes — the Full Load configuration includes battery backup, so the flame can be lit and run during an outage (the blower will not operate).
Can it be installed outdoors?
Only in protected outdoor applications. Per Montigo's manual, the DelRay Square may be installed in outdoor locations provided it is suitably protected from direct water impingement — a covered outdoor room with overhang coverage in front of and beside the fireplace. It is not a sealed outdoor unit; for fully exposed spaces, look at Montigo's Mahana outdoor line.
Is it approved for mobile or manufactured homes?
Yes — it may be installed in an aftermarket, permanently located manufactured home (USA only) or mobile home, where not prohibited by local codes.
