The Napoleon Luxuria 62" is a linear direct vent gas fireplace with a triple-pane glass guard in place of a mesh screen and Dynamic Heat Control built in, so the wall can be finished in combustible material right to the opening and a TV or artwork can hang above it. It is rated 44,000 BTU/hr on natural gas, or 35,000 on propane with Napoleon's conversion kit, through a 66-1/8" by 18-5/8" view, with MIRRO-FLAME porcelain panels, multi-colour LED ember lights, Night Light top lights, a ProFlame II remote and the eFIRE phone app included — from $13,749 before the burning display, and any log set, you choose above. It vents through a 5" / 8" pipe off the top, frames 77-13/16" wide, and carries Napoleon's President's Lifetime Limited Warranty.
Choose it if you want a long, clean linear fire with nothing between you and the flame but glass, dressed your way — Standard Beach Fire or Birch logs, High Definition Birch, Driftwood or Oak, glass beads or crushed glass embers in eleven colours, wrought iron globes, or a Woodland or Mineral Rock kit — and a TV above it without a mantel. It is approved for bedrooms and bathrooms and certified for mobile homes.
It is not right if you need a heater: Napoleon certifies the Luxuria as a decorative appliance, not a source of heat. It also needs a burning display — glass or a media kit — before it can run, a 5" / 8" direct vent run, a hard-wired 110 V supply and a fully finished enclosure at least 91" tall with a Dynamic Heat Control air outlet, so it is a framed-in installation planned before the wall is finished — not a drop-in for an existing fireplace.
The framed opening is 77-13/16" wide and 18" (up to 21") deep, in an enclosure at least 91" tall from the base of the fireplace; the fireplace itself is 77-5/16" wide (81-5/16" across its flanges), 41-3/16" high and 17-11/16" (plus the 1/2" finishing flange) deep. The enclosure is finished on all four sides with a complete floor, and it is either left open at the top or given a front or rear air outlet of at least 160 sq. in. — the layouts are on pages 27 to 32 of the installation manual. A TV or picture above keeps 6" below the outlet and 6" above the finishing flange, and mantel heights and depths are charted on page 63. No hearth is required. Keep furniture at least 48" from the front.
The Luxuria 62" See-Through is the same size and rating with the fire showing on both sides and a 16-3/16" framed depth, priced from $15,469; this model is from $13,749. In the other widths, the Luxuria 50" and 74" are priced from $10,319 and from $17,199: across the line the 50" is rated 38,000 BTU/hr with a 54-1/8" view, the 62" 44,000 BTU/hr with 66-1/8", and the 74" 50,000 BTU/hr with 78-1/8", all 18-5/8" tall.
It is a direct vent fireplace on a 5" / 8" pipe off the top of the unit, run out through a wall or up through the roof: up to 20 ft horizontally and up to 40 ft vertically. Use one brand throughout — Napoleon, Metal-Fab, BDM, Simpson Dura-Vent or Selkirk Direct Temp — and do not mix rigid and flexible pipe. Napoleon's 5" / 8" wall terminals are the GD422R-2 round terminal and the ST58U-1 Silhouette, with roof kits for pitched and flat roofs and GD420 / GD430 flexible vent kits. The vent run and termination are ordered separately and sized to your installation (see pg 15 in the installation manual), and it is suitable for power venting with Napoleon's PVALX adaptor kits.
Yes — that is what the built-in Dynamic Heat Control is for. It carries heat out through an air outlet opening in the enclosure, so a TV, sound bar or artwork can go above the fireplace, kept at least 6" below the air outlet and 6" above the finishing flange. Napoleon tested TV installations at the minimum enclosure size and the deepest recess allowed; plan the air outlet with your installer using pages 27 to 32 of the installation manual, and stay within your TV maker's own temperature limits.
Indoors, including bedrooms, bathrooms and bed-sitting rooms, and it is certified for mobile and manufactured homes where local codes allow (fastened in place). It is rated to 4,500 ft, with the input reduced above that. Keep furniture and other objects at least 48" from the front, and do not run it below freezing.
A 1/2" natural gas or propane line to the fireplace's flex connector and shut-off valve, connected and tested before the wall is finished — natural gas at 4.5" to 13" w.c. inlet pressure, propane at 11" to 13" w.c. It is hard-wired to a grounded 110 V supply, and the 4 AA battery wall switch keeps the fire turning on and off in a power outage. It ships for natural gas and converts to propane with Napoleon's kit W175-0654, fitted by a qualified installer.
No. The Torch Guys is an authorized Napoleon dealer, so the President's Lifetime Limited Warranty applies in full, and we file claims with Napoleon for you. The combustion chamber, burner, logs, embers, rocks, ceramic glass and porcelain parts are covered for as long as you own the fireplace — parts free for the first 10 years, then at half of retail; valves, remotes and other electrical parts and the labour are covered for the first year. Coverage starts on the installation date.
